Millicent Kehinde Olasanoye was born and raised in Hartford, Connecticut. In March 2006, she moved to Georgia for a new start and hopes of pursuing better opportunities. Ms. Olasanoye always considered herself to be unique and different; whether it was cutting up some jeans or putting safety pins on a t-shirt. “Being able to be true to who I am has always been important to me.” And because of her Nigerian background, Ms. Olasanoye’s eyes were opened to the world of art and fashion. While working for the Department of Family & Children’s Services, she developed a deeper passion and joy for makeup when she decided to assist young girls with homecoming and prom. “As young girls and women, we still struggle with self-esteem and identity issues. Makeup unites us on an even level where judgment cannot gain access.” From that moment, Ms. Olasanoye knew she was passionate about giving back through making others feel beautiful. Tulip Eyes Makeup Artistry was founded in January 2010 when she began to connect with people on another level which embodies innovation and excitement “Life should be full of adventure and makeup is FUN!” Ms. Olasanoye received her certificate of completion for Master Class in Makeup Artistry in May 2017 and Bridal Class in August 2017 at Gwynnis Mosby Makeup Academy. Upon graduating, she quickly began working in the field as a volunteer to gain more experience in the business. Ms. Olasanoye provided services for various foundations and independent film productions, which include The Ludacris Girl’s Empowerment Foundation, Bramer Leon Couture Fashion Show, 6th Annual Jackie Walter’s 50 Shades of Pink Foundation Fashion Show 2018, Jo Robinson Edward’s Cause for Elegance Production of Disney’s The Lion King 2017, and many more. Ms. Olasanoye entered her first makeup competition with The Skin Games in 2018. Although, Ms. Olasanoye did not make it to the finals; she was determined to try again. On March 18, 2019, she was one of the 10 finalists to move on to compete in Las Vegas, Nevada. She competed for the finals in June 14-15, 2019. Also, Ms. Olasanoye had the honor to compete at PMAC (Professional Makeup Artist Conference) Expo on April 27, 2019. Ms. Olasanoye will be launching her very own cosmetic line T.E.C. which stands for Tulip Eyes Cosmetics later this year.
Ms. Olasanoye has a Bachelor of Science in Marketing with a minor in Communications from Southern Connecticut State University and a Certification in Medical Billing & Coding from Sanford Brown College. Ms. Olasanoye plans to pursue her education as a Medical Aesthetician soon.
